Our AML and Verification Policy
Every account on our platform is subject to anti-money-laundering (AML) checks and identity verification. Below we explain what we do, when we do it, and what we need from you.
Our AML Commitment
We operate under licence 8048/JAZ2017-067 issued by the Curaçao licensing authority, and we treat the anti-money-laundering obligations of that jurisdiction as binding on every part of our platform. Our compliance programme is maintained by a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) who reports directly to management.
In practice this means we identify our players, monitor their transactions, and report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities where the law requires it. We apply the same standards to deposits, withdrawals and gameplay data, and we keep our internal risk assessments under regular review.
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification points
We verify your identity at three points: at registration, where we run electronic identity and age checks; before your first withdrawal, which is mandatory; and at any point where your deposits, withdrawals or gameplay exceed risk thresholds that our AML framework sets. Verification is never optional, because it protects both your funds and our licence.
- Registration: electronic identity, age (18+) and sanctions screening.
- First withdrawal: full document verification before payout.
- Thresholds: additional checks when cumulative deposits or unusual betting patterns trigger our risk rules.
Documents we request
We ask only for documents we are legally required to check, and we keep the list short.
- Photo ID: passport, driving licence or national ID card.
- Proof of address: utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months.
- Payment method verification: a photo of the card (middle digits covered) or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name.
How Verification Works
Our review team checks submitted documents within 72 hours, and most straightforward cases clear far sooner. You can track the status of each document in your account dashboard, and we email you the moment a check is complete or if we need something clearer.
- Upload your documents through the secure verification page in your account.
- Our team reviews them against the details you registered with.
- We confirm the outcome by email within 72 hours.
- If anything is unclear, we tell you exactly what to re-submit and why.
How we protect your documents
All uploads travel over encrypted connections and are stored on access-restricted servers. Only authorised compliance staff can view verification documents, every access is logged, and we never share your files with third parties except where the law compels us.
Why We May Ask for Source of Funds
For the majority of players, standard verification is all we ever need. Where deposit volumes or patterns fall outside our normal risk profile, our AML obligations require us to confirm that the money you play with comes from a legitimate source. This is not an accusation; it is a legal duty we owe to our regulator.
Typical acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return, a pension statement, or bank statements showing regular income. Once our compliance team has reviewed the evidence and closed the query, we will not ask again unless your activity changes materially.
Deposit and Withdrawal Checks
We monitor every deposit and withdrawal against your verified profile, your stated playing pattern and our risk rules. Withdrawals are paid back to the same method you used to deposit wherever technically possible, in line with the same-method rule that prevents funds flowing through accounts that do not belong to you.
Our withdrawal limits and timeframes are fixed and published: a minimum withdrawal of £18, a maximum of £9,000 per day, and processing within 0-72 hours depending on the method. Crypto withdrawals are typically processed within 1 hour. We charge no fees on deposits or withdrawals.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | £10 |
| Minimum withdrawal | £18 |
| Maximum withdrawal | £9,000 per day |
| Withdrawal processing | 0-72 hours |
| Crypto withdrawal processing | Typically within 1 hour |
| Casino fees | None |
If Verification Fails
If you do not provide the documents we request, or if the documents do not match your account details, we suspend withdrawals on the account until the issue is resolved. Deposits may also be blocked where our AML rules require it, and in serious cases we may close the account and, where the law obliges us, file a report with the authorities.
You always have the right to respond: we tell you precisely what failed, you may re-submit corrected documents, and you can appeal any decision to our compliance team at [email protected]. Verified balances on a closed account are returned to you via the original payment method.
How Long We Keep Records
We retain verification documents and transaction records for the period required by our Curaçao licence, which in practice means several years after your account closes. Retention is not our choice to make lightly: regulators require the records so that historical transactions can be reconstructed if an investigation demands it. When the retention period expires, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your documents.
Frequently asked questions
When do I need to complete KYC at Wino Casino?
We run electronic checks at registration, and full document verification is required before your first withdrawal. We may also verify you at any point if your activity triggers our risk thresholds.
How long does verification take?
Up to 72 hours, although most checks are completed much sooner. We notify you by email as soon as the review is finished or if we need clearer documents.
Why was my withdrawal suspended?
The most common reason is an outstanding document, a mismatch between your documents and your account details, or a pending source-of-funds check. Contact [email protected] and we will tell you exactly what is needed.
Do I have to withdraw to the same method I deposited with?
Yes, wherever technically possible. This is a standard AML requirement that prevents money moving through accounts that do not belong to you.
